The National Council of Pediatric Hospital Medicine fellowship directors is committed to fostering inclusion, recruitment, and retainment of a diverse workforce which will meet the healthcare needs of children in the 21st century. We encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds (inclusive of age, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, and socioeconomic status) to apply.
PHM fellowship applicants,
Welcome! We hope that this website will provide you guidance in navigating the PHM fellowship application process.
PHM fellowship applicants,
Thank you so much for your interest in Pediatric Hospital Medicine! We cannot wait to help train the future leaders of our field!
On the phmfellows.org website, please find the PHM Fellowship Shared Application, as well as the Program List. When reviewing, please make note of which programs accept visas.
We agree that it is cumbersome to email your application to each program individually and to have your letter writers do the same. Until >75% of PHM fellowship programs are ACGME-accredited, we are unable to participate in ERAS. We hope to pursue this in the next few years. While we are not in ERAS, we are aligning with their timeline, and we do participate in NRMP.
Important Application Dates:
The first offers of interviews will occur starting Wed July 21, 2021, which is when applications open in ERAS this year. Applicants will have 72 hours to reply to interview offers. Additional interviews will be offered on a rolling basis after the July 21st date.
Important NRMP Dates:
9/22/21 – Match Opens at 12:00 p.m. ET
10/27/21 – Ranking Opens at 12:00 p.m. ET
12/1/21 – Rank Order List Certification Deadline at 9:00 p.m. ET
12/15/21 – Match Day at 12:00 p.m. ET!
We ask that applicants only apply to programs in which they have a genuine interest. Similarly, please only accept interview offers at programs you see yourself joining. Interviews will occur virtually this year.
There will be applicant information sessions held virtually this summer, so please stay tuned for these; we will announce them on the AAPHOSPMED listserv (https://services.aap.org/en/community/aap-sections/hospital-medicine/ ).
The PHM Fellowship Directors Council is committed to fostering inclusion, recruitment, and retention of a diverse workforce which will meet the healthcare needs of children in the 21st century. We encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds (inclusive of age, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, and socioeconomic status) to apply.
Good luck and we look forward to “seeing” all of you this year!
Sincerely, the PHM Fellowship Directors Council and the Marketing and Recruitment Subcommittee
